Fireworks, baseball, cookouts, garden gnomes, pumpkin pies, and flags.  One of these things doesn’t belong when you are celebrating the 4^th of July.  Do you know which one?  Obviously… Pumpkin Pie.  Let’s get serious.  We all know you need Apple Pie for the 4^th of July almost as much as you need your own garden gnome. The 4^th of July without a garden gnome is as silly as a raft without water.  Do yourself a favor and save Independence Day while you still have the ability.

Few people know that garden gnomes were the reason that Betsy Ross was able to spend so much time creating the flag.  Who on earth do you think did her weeding, mowing, and watering while she was wrapped up in the flag?  (Literally…you should have been there.  It was touch and go for a while.)   If you want to honor Betsy Ross and her flag then you’d better make sure you have a few new garden gnomes to thank.  It’s really time that we gave credit where credit is due.
